Frequently Asked Questions

What does it cost to screen the film? The license fee is based on the size of your event. Up to 50 attendees: $200 51-100 attendees: $350 101-200 attendees: $600 201+ attendees: $750 Having said that, we are willing to work with you if you don't have the budget outlined above. Let us know in the form above what would work for you, and we'll do our best to accommodate your request.

Why do we charge a screening fee? The film team have poured our passion, time, and resources into the making of this film. Screening fees help cover the growing cost of distributing the film and allow us to build a sustainable path forward. Thank you for helping us share this and future stories with the world.

What types of venues can screenings take place in? A theater or dedicated audio-visual event space is the preferred choice for screening the film as it will most likely have the best parking, seating, equipment, etc. This ensures a smooth and high-quality experience for your guests. You can always ask the venue if they have a discounted rate or if they'd be willing to donate their space in exchange for sponsorship of the event. Other great venue options include: Independent or boutique theaters; university or other educational auditoriums; arts, community, or public libraries; conference rooms.

Is it possible to bring the filmmaker to my event? Absolutely! Gabe, the film's director and producer, would be honored to attend as his schedule allows. He can host an audience Q&A to help deepen the impact of the film. Costs typically include travel expenses and an appearance fee, which varies based on your event's location, timing, and scope.

Can the filmmaker join my event virtually? Yes! For an additional fee, Gabe, the film's director and producer, can join your event virtually (Zoom or other platform). The fee varies depending on the details of your event and is subject to availability.

Are captions and subtitles available? Yes and maybe. The film can be shown with open captions (text on screen throughout) or with closed captions (for venues that support it). We don't have any subtitles yet, but feel free to ask, and we'll see what we can do. Most likely, there will be a fee for subtitles.

What is the film rated? The film does not have a rating. While it deals with themes of substance use disorder (including overdose), mental health (including suicidal ideation and hearing voices), recovery, and homelessness, there is no violence on screen. Depending on the level of maturity, it is suitable for children. However, most kids will probably not find it very entertaining.

Can I watch the film before hosting an event? This is not currently an option. However, we would be happy to discuss the film's storytelling in detail with you and/or show you select scenes to give you as clear a sense as possible of the overall shape and tone of the film.
